With the governor’s message and executive order to begin opening up businesses, there will be essential office staff working in each school and the district office beginning Monday, May 18, 2020, primarily engaged in clerical tasks.
Everyone, take a look at the latest US News and World Report recognizing Fountain Hills High School as a top AZ high school.
The week of May 4–8 is Teacher Appreciation Week and our awesome FHUSD teachers deserve a hearty congratulations for their continued service.
Additional thanks go out to Jeannie Ryan and the Golden Eagle Education Foundation for working with Euro Pizza, actively giving coupons at our breakfast/lunch distribution sites.Read more
There have been two announcements from government officials today, March 30, 2020, regarding the extension of school closures and now a “Stay, Home, Stay Healthy” Executive Order from Governor Ducey.
The first announcement this morning from Governor Ducey and State Superintendent Kathy Hoffman announced the extension of school closures through the end of the school year.
The second announcement issued as an Executive Order this afternoon called “Stay Home, Stay Healthy, Stay Connected” is an advanced physical distancing order listing only essential activities for the public to engage in effective March 31 at 5:00 p.m.
Both of these announcements deeply affect the FHUSD community. While we have begun online, remote, and supplemental instructional practices, these directives from the Governor will impact the types and duration of the services we provide as we move forward. Please see updated messages from your school principals concerning additional computer devices available to be distributed, wifi access, and continued breakfast/lunch distribution that attempts to fall within the physical distancing order. There will be many unanswered questions at this time, but we will continue to keep you informed as decisions are made at every level.
We are committed to providing students with continued learning opportunities and access to instructional content that follows the directives from the state. It is critical that you stay connected with your school through website notices, email, and the Google and Seesaw platforms used to connect with students.
Thank you for your understanding, and I wish good health for everyone during this extended period.
Robert Allen, Ed.D.
